🌍 “Artonaut #12” — the twelfth work in Mark Rox’s Artonaut series, created in acrylic with UV-reactive pigments that come to life under blacklight, revealing hidden details and enhancing the visible ones. Like all pieces in the series, it can be brought to life through AR.
In reality, an astronaut is a tiny figure adrift in the vastness of space, with Earth appearing as a massive and dominant presence. In this piece, however, Mark Rox inverts that perspective: the planet becomes small and fragile, while the Artonaut is rendered monumental, almost sculptural. He sits as if resting after a long journey, watching the miniature Earth float in the void.
This shift in scale creates the sensation of peering into a world where the familiar laws of space and the roles we assign are reversed — a place where the artist plays with our perception of reality itself.
